State Records Office Search Room

The State Records Office Search Room is open to provide access to State archives for the general public, as well as a telephone reference query service, at the following times: Tues - Fri : 10am - 4.30pm except public holidays.

Please note that, due to the Queen's Birthday Public Holiday Monday 24th September, records requested after 4pm Friday 21st will be available for viewing on Wednesday 26th September. Due to unavoidable circumstances, items from consignments 5770 to 6521 inclusive will not be available until Tuesday 25 September, 2018.

Due to the national conference of the Australian Society of Archivists being held in Perth from the 25th to the 28th September, some SRO services may be impacted.

State Information Management Services

State Information Management Services Team members are available to provide free ad-hoc telephone advice on matters concerning recordkeeping and records management. Telephone (08) 9427 3661: Mon - Wed: 9am - 5pm.

For URGENT matters telephone (08) 9427 3662: Mon - Fri: 8.30am - 5.30pm.

Intermediate Records Repository

The Intermediate Records Repository is not open to the general public. All requests for material must be made through the State Records Office Search Room or by email to sro@sro.wa.gov.au. Retrievals are undertaken the next working morning.
