Since 2006, the State Records Commission has sponsored a special W S Lonnie Award in partnership with the Institute of Public Administration Australia (WA Division). This specialist award, the State Records Commission Award, recognises excellence in reporting against the compliance requirements of SRC Standard 2, Principle 6 in Annual Reports.
At the Institute of Public Administration Australia’s W S Lonnie Awards presentation on 28 March 2014, the State Archivist and Executive Director State Records, Ms Cathrin Cassarchis, was delighted to announce the Fremantle Port Authority (Fremantle Ports) as the recipient of this year’s State Records Commission Award.
As a previous winner in 2010, Fremantle Ports is one of only two organizations to receive this Award twice. The agency’s outstanding annual report statement comprehensively describes its work towards best practice in records and information management and compliance with the State Records Act 2000.
Special commendations were also awarded to the Department of Mines and Petroleum and the Western Australian Electoral Commission for their reporting on initiatives to evaluate and improve recordkeeping processes.
The State Records Commission and the State Records Office extend their congratulations to all organizations.
