New Research Space for State Archives

COMING SOON - NEW RESEARCH SPACE FOR STATE ARCHIVES

The State Records Office WA and State Library of WA are co-locating research spaces (including search and reading rooms) in the Battye Library for West Australian History at the Alexander Library Building.

Many of our customers use both the Battye Library and State Records Office (Search Room) regularly; and co-locating these services will enable researchers interested in the history, environment, development, identity and culture of Western Australia to access relevant archival material from a single location.

The scope of the project is limited to a change in location of the State Records Office Search Room only.

No changes to the respective roles and responsibilities of the State Records Office and State Library and their staff are planned.

Work is underway on Stage 1 of the new research space, which is being jointly managed by the State Records Office and State Library. Updates on the project will be shared via Twitter and Facebook.
