Before using archival records in the State Records Office Search Room, it is necessary for clients to register with the State Records Office and be issued with a Research Ticket. Clients can do this by completing a Researcher Registration Form at the Enquiry Desk in the State Records Office Search Room. Appropriate identification, showing your current name and address - such as a driver's licence or a passport, and which includes a photograph - needs to be sighted before the form can be finalised. There is no charge involved.
By signing the registration form clients agree to abide by the State Records Office's Conditions For The Use of Archival Records.
The Research Ticket must be presented each time records are collected and its number should also be cited when making retrieval requests by telephone or by email.
